This article covers how to set secure mail settings in Outlook 2007.
- Navigate to Account Settings under the Tools tab.
- Select the email account you wish to modify, then click change… in the E-mail tab.
For IMAP email, do the following. For POP, skip below to the next section:
- Fill in all relevant information as shown below. Then click More Settings ...
- Go to the Outgoing Server tab. Select "My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication" as shown below. Click OK.
- Go to the Advanced tab. Fill in the information as shown below, and click OK.
- Review all information is correct, then click Next >.
- Congratulations, you are done!
For POP email, follow this section:
- Fill in all relevant information as shown below. Then click More Settings ...
- Select "My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication" as shown below. Click OK.
- Go to the Advanced tab. Fill in the information as shown below, and click OK.
- Review all information is correct, then click Next >.
- Congratulations, you are done!
